Pay Range
Starting pay per hour: $21.75 – $23.75. Full pay range: $21.75 – $37.00. Pay is based on labor markets, education, work experience and certifications.

Responsibilities- Lead a security culture, including crisis response, safety environment and crowd management.
- Implement daily/weekly assets protection workload priorities.
- Respond to theft incidents and develop preventative strategies.
- Partner with store leaders on operational shortage priorities.
- Lead and develop a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, evaluating and retaining talent.
- Ensure consistent delivery of Target’s guest experience commitments.
- Analyze and improve guest, financial and team outcome metrics.
- Support store sales and profitability by ensuring product availability.
- Manage staffing needs and develop schedules based on theft patterns.
- Own prevention, identification and resolution of external theft incidents.
- Conduct internal investigations per AP leader guidance.
- Educate store leadership on merchandise protection best practices.
- Order merchandise protection devices and manage the allocated budget.
- Communicate AP priorities to team, peers and leadership.
- Maintain relationships with district, store leaders and law enforcement.
- Support safety program management routines such as monthly safety meetings.
- Represent Target in legal proceedings when required.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store.
- Respond as first responder to in-store safety incidents.
- All other duties based on business needs.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
- Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude.
- Effective communication skills.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports and information.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance required.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Ability to use hand‑held devices and technology equipment as directed. Willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
