Position Summary

What You'll Do
  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and listening to associates touring stores.
  • Provide feedback and coaching; communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations.
  • Utilize technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction to introduce and lead change efforts.
  • Set clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following the One Best Way OBW service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs and store-of-the-community events.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing PL Profit‑Loss statements and managing budgeting, forecasting, and expenses.
  • Confirm budgets are indexed to sales; monitor effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and meet sales and profit goals.
  • Supervise and develop hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and recognizing performance.
  • Coordinate and oversee job‑related activities and assignments; maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; set goals and measure progress.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities with adaptability and continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards; implement related action plans.
  • Promote a workplace culture of belonging and respect for individual differences.
  • Act with integrity, exhibiting humility, honesty, fairness, and transparency; support Walmart’s regenerative goals.
  • Serve customers and members by delivering results, prioritizing the customer, and applying business models consistently.
  • Make data‑based decisions, balancing short‑ and long‑term priorities, and considering stakeholders in planning.
  • Strive for excellence by taking calculated risks, demonstrating courage, learning from mistakes, and encouraging continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (e.g., Live Better U, Bellevue University).
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
