Sales Account Manager

About the Role

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for supporting assigned Regional Sales Managers by managing inside sales activities, customer communication, quote coordination, CRM/data accuracy, and order readiness. This role serves as a key point of coordination between Sales, Customer Service, Order Entry, Purchasing, Operations, and customers.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable using systems, reports, and data to support timely follow-up, improve account visibility, and strengthen the overall customer experience.

Position Location: This is a hybrid position in our Columbus, Ohio headquarters

Hybrid position: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Compensation: Total compensation ($75k – 80k)

-Base Salary ($50k – 55k)

-Monthly commission based on gross profit

-Quarterly bonus based on company gross margin % to goal

Key Responsibilities

• Support assigned outside sales reps through quote management, customer support, and account coordination.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customers, providing responsive communication and building strong customer relationships.
• Prepare and manage customer quotations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and pricing compliance.
• Coordinate with Customer Service, Order Entry, Purchasing, and Operations to support customer needs and ensure successful order execution.
• Maintain accurate customer, quote, opportunity, and activity data within Salesforce, Sales Pad, Zen Desk and other systems.
• Utilize reports and account data to drive customer follow-up, identify engagement opportunities, and support account growth.
• Identify and recommend improvements to processes, workflows, and tools that increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
• Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to support sales growth, continuous improvement, and shared team success.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 – 2 years of experience in account management, sales support, inside sales, customer service, or a related customer-facing role is required; 3 - 5 years job experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a B2B environment; manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or technical product experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using CRM and business systems to manage customer and sales activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required;
  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
