AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The role will help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.

• Manage physical security operations, develop post orders, and define security procedures.
• Handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, drive day‑to‑day process improvement, and manage vendors.
• Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures, participate in recurring site audits and reviews, and test new security technologies.
• Demonstrate resilient leadership, flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices, and strong written and verbal communication.

Each day begins with a comprehensive review of any security incidents or operational issues that occurred. Duties include conducting thorough security system checks, testing access control systems, verifying camera operations, and reviewing alarm panel statuses. Throughout the day, active participation in operations meetings with the DC Operations team, vendor access requests, and emerging security concerns occurs. Detailed facility walkthroughs are conducted, inspecting perimeter security, checking equipment condition, and documenting vulnerabilities in the security tracking system.

Managing security‑related tickets, including badge access requests, coordinating vendor escorts, and handling security system maintenance requests, forms a significant portion of the day. Oversight of vendor management activities, security guard force operations, SLA compliance, and random post‑inspections ensures quality service delivery. Regular participation in security team meetings allows review of metrics, discussion of process improvements, and coordination of upcoming projects. Administrative responsibilities such as updating security procedures, completing required reports, reviewing camera footage, and documenting incidents are also performed.

Throughout the shift, the specialist remains responsive to security incidents or alarms, maintains constant vigilance over the facility's security posture, and communicates effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

• 1+ year(s) of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience; or experience in professional or military IT‑related roles.

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office tools experience.
• Experience with access control and CCTV systems.

Position salary range in the U.S., OH: $28.00 – $50.00 USD hourly.
