Job Title: Higher-End Low Voltage Technician OR Foreman
Location: Hilliard / Columbus / Plain City, OH (Greater Metro Area)
Type: Traveling Role
Pay Range:
- Lead Technician: $26-$28/hr
- Foreman: $27-$30/hr (based on demonstrated experience and leadership ability)
- Perform installation, termination, splicing, and testing of fiber optic and copper cabling systems
- Work with CAT5e/CAT6, coaxial, and fiber optic (single-mode and multi-mode) systems
- Conduct field terminations and fiber splicing as needed
- Perform testing, certification, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber networks
- Ensure proper grounding and bonding practices are followed
- Build and complete MDFs, IDFs, and telecommunications rooms
- Maintain accurate cable records, field prints, and as-built documentation
- Lead small crews (1-4+ technicians) on active job sites
- Plan manpower, materials, and equipment needs for upcoming 5-10 day work cycles
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to Installer I, Installer II, and Technician-level staff
- Coordinate daily work activities to meet project timelines and quality standards
- Support field execution by resolving technical and installation issues
- 3-5+ years of Low Voltage experience (outside hyperscale/data center environments preferred)
- Strong background in structured cabling systems (fiber, copper, coax)
- Experience with field terminations, splicing, and testing (fiber and copper)
- Experience building and working in MDFs, IDFs, and TRs
- Ability to read and interpret field prints, drawings, and as-builts
- Proven experience leading or supervising small field crews
- Experience training and mentoring junior technicians
- Strong troubleshooting and testing expertise (Fluke or equivalent tools)
- Experience in commercial or large-scale infrastructure environments
- Strong documentation skills for field records and as-builts
- OSHA or safety certifications (preferred but not required)
- Must be willing to travel regionally as required
- Must have own tools and PPE
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple field priorities and deadlines
