Maintenance Installer

This role focuses on assembling large industrial hood kits for a 4–5 month project at a data center site in the Hilliard and New Albany area. You will work as part of a small, coordinated team to build, move, and inspect assembled kits using forklifts, power tools, and hand tools. The position requires a strong mechanical or maintenance background, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures in a fast-paced, tightly managed production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble industrial-sized hood kits according to detailed specifications and instructions.
• Load and unload parts and materials safely and efficiently at the worksite.
• Use forklifts to move large assembled kits and components as required.
• Operate power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, and saws to complete assembly tasks.
• Perform quality inspections on assembled kits to ensure they meet all standards and requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including regular site clean up.
• Follow all directions and procedures provided by the on-site supervisory team.
• Work collaboratively within a team of installers to meet production goals and timelines.
• Adhere to OSHA and site safety guidelines throughout all phases of work.
• Support general mechanical and construction-related tasks associated with high-level assembly work.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of experience using power tools in an industrial, construction, or mechanical setting.
• At least 5 years of experience using hand tools for assembly or maintenance work.
• At least 5 years of experience with mechanical or high-level assembly tasks.
• Proficiency with pneumatic tools, grinders, and saws in a production or construction environment.
• Experience operating forklifts to move large or heavy materials safely.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety practices and the ability to follow safety procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow instructions and work processes.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliability and willingness to work within a tightly run operation and follow supervisory direction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in mechanics, maintenance, high-level assembly, construction, or other mechanical fields.
• Experience working on industrial or data center construction or installation projects.
• Comfort working in an outdoor production environment under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively in small teams and coordinate tasks with other installers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality assembled products.

Work Environment

Work takes place outdoors under a production tent at a data center site in the Hilliard and New Albany area. The environment is designed to be comfortable and workable, with fans and heaters available to manage temperature as needed. You will use forklifts, power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, and saws as part of the assembly process. The operation is tightly managed, with two teams of three installers working under the supervision of multiple on-site managers and a project manager.

The setting is production-focused, safety-oriented, and requires adherence to established procedures and directions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
