Responsibilities- Makes rounds with physician to monitor and report on patients’ progress.
- Examines, recognizes, and interprets symptoms of patients.
- Orders medical and other supplies.
- Prepares and administers medication within the limits of authority.
- Participates in completing orientation and in-service training of employees.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires Illinois license as a Practical nurse.
- Requires one (1) year of practical nursing experience.
This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
Conditions of Employment- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
- Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
