Job Description
As a Detail Inspector
, you’ll conduct inspections of aircraft parts to assess serviceability and document findings. You’ll also support production by contributing to process improvements and maintaining accurate records and system updates.
- Conduct visual inspections of aircraft parts and determine their scrap or serviceable status.
- Input inspection information accurately into the system.
- Ensure products are clean and in acceptable condition for inspections.
- Determine repairability of products not meeting requirements.
- Record inspection results and generate cost estimates and repair documentation.
- Inspect and identify parts in the Reduced to Spares (RTS) process.
- Supervise detail inspection trainees in the on‑the‑job training (OJT) process.
- Participate in continuous improvement of cell processes.
- Cross‑train in complementary skills and support production requirements.
- Move between production assignments requiring multiple skills.
- Observe safety requirements and report unsafe practices or conditions.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Regularly required to sit for prolonged periods (Approximately 50% of time).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Previous inspection experience preferred.
- Experience in an aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul facility preferred.
- Knowledgeable in technical writing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
