Senior Accountant

Our client, a massive global life sciences, biotechnology, and laboratory supply company, is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, collaboration, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

** Pay Range:**  $42-47/hr. on W2

** Job Type:
** 3-4-month contract with the potential for hire or extension

* Schedule:

** M-F 40 hrs./wk.

** What's the Job?*
* + Meticulously analyze production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overheads, to identify cost-saving opportunities.

+ Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate valuation and minimize waste or shortages.

+ Participate in month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in financial reporting.

+ Prepare and present comprehensive reports on manufacturing costs, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management.

+ Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, responding promptly to audit requests with accurate documentation.

** What's Needed?*
* + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ Previous experience of 5+ years in cost accounting or a similar role.

+ Advanced knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles and best practices.

+ Proficiency in ERP systems such as QAD or Oracle Hyperion.

+ Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.
