GENERAL DUTIES:

Assists the Hillsboro High School Team in implementation of the Hillsboro School District Strategic Plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds.
• The ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
• Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications.
• The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District.
• A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, plus a minimum of one year of leadership experience as a department chairperson, team leader, intern, or instructional leader.
• Knowledge of and experience with effective instruction and assessment.
• The ability to work with multiple grade levels in elementary and/or secondary.
• A valid Oregon driver’s license and a vehicle for work related travel.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking two languages as determined by District screening tool).
