General DescriptionIn alignment with NWRESD’s mission to improve student learning, this role supports the regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Connected Learning efforts across Tillamook, Clatsop, and portions of Columbia County. The Specialist facilitates and supports districts in coordinating, implementing, and continuously improving CTE programs, Perkins grant activities, regional collaboration, and workforce development opportunities for students. The position focuses on coordination, technical assistance, communication, data management, and program support rather than direct supervision or system-level leadership.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in education, workforce development, business, or related field, preferred.
- Experience in Career and Technical Education, workforce development, or related educational programming, preferred.
- Experience supporting grants, partnerships, or educational programs, preferred.
- Knowledge of Career Connected Learning and/or Perkins funding processes, preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.

- Professionalism and effective human relations.
- Proficiency with computer and internet-based applications (email, Google Suite, MS Word).
- Data collection, organization, and reporting support.
- Collaboration with school districts, colleges, and community partners.

- Ability to support multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of current trends in Career and Technical Education programs.
- Facilitation of meetings and technical assistance to educators and partners.
- Independent work with guidance from supervisors.
- Regional CTE coordination support: assist districts and community colleges in coordination and implementation of regional CTE activities.
- Planning and facilitation of regional meetings for CTE teachers, counselors, and school staff.
- Technical assistance related to Programs of Study, program renewals, and documentation.
- Perkins grant compliance: assist districts in maintaining compliance with grant requirements and timelines.
- Career Connected Learning and workforce development: support coordination of initiatives across the region.
- Professional development: help organize training for educators.
- Student opportunities: coordinate regional student Career Connected Learning opportunities with local educators.
- Perkins Grant and Data support: assist with collection, organization, and reporting.
- Labor market research and regional needs assessment support.
- Recordkeeping: maintain grant expenditure and program activity records.
- Funding communication: assist districts in identifying and communicating funding opportunities.
- Partnership support: maintain relationships with schools, colleges, businesses, and community organizations.
- Communication between ODE, districts, and regional partners.
- Communication tools and shared resources maintenance for regional CTE initiatives.
- Work‑based learning: support coordination of opportunities for students.
- Regional meeting and event coordination: handle logistics, communication, and scheduling for regional convenings.
- County‑level coordinator, teacher, and principal meetings: facilitate sessions focused on Career Connected Learning.
- Attend regional and statewide CTE and workforce development meetings as assigned.
- STEM and workforce development: collaborate with NWRESD staff to align STEM, Career Connected Learning, and workforce development initiatives.
- Implement regional projects and special initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support regional workforce development and Career Connected Learning efforts.
