Assistant Professor- School of Graduate Psychology

General Description of Position

The School of Graduate Psychology (SGP) in the College of Health Professions at Pacific University Oregon is seeking an Assistant Professor for its APA-accredited PsyD Program, beginning Fall 2026. This position is an 11‑month, extended‑term or tenure‑track position.

The APA‑accredited Clinical Psychology PsyD program aims to prepare competent, ethical, and socially responsive practitioner‑scholars. Candidates should hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology (preferred) or Counseling Psychology, and be licensed or license‑eligible in Oregon. Interest in clinical health psychology, integrated care, or related areas is preferred.

• Teaching & Mentorship
  • Develop syllabi, deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and run labs.
  • Create assignments and exams, grade, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours for individual student support.
  • Advise students on course selection, degree progress, and career planning.
• Research & Scholarship
  • Conduct original research, write grant proposals, and manage lab teams.
  • Publish papers in academic journals, present at conferences, and publish books.
• Service
  • Serve on departmental and university‑wide committees to handle hiring, curriculum changes, and policy‑making.
  • Contribute to discipline through peer review, journal editing, and professional association participation.
  • Participate in student recruitment, orientation events, and graduation ceremonies.

This position is not supervisory in nature but may supervise student workers or teaching assistants.

• Education:
  
  PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or APS accredited doctoral program (preferred); licensed or license‑eligible in Oregon.
• Experience:
