* This is an in person position located on-site in Hillsboro during school hours. We will match tutor schedule to your class schedule and can be flexible with time and hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Hillsboro School District middle and high schools are seeking college students to tutor AVID students in the AVID Elective class during the regular school day. The AVID Elective class helps first generation and underrepresented students prepare for success in college and careers.
The job of AVID Tutor (Advancement Via Individual Determination) was established for the purpose of assisting students in achieving academic goals.
The AVID Tutor will:
- Facilitate small group (about 7 students) tutorials using Socratic questioning
- Tutorials are for all subjects, but tutors need not be experts in all areas as they are facilitators
- Training and support will be provided by licensed staff.

QualificationsRequired:
- Enrolled in a college program in good standing
- Enjoy working with middle school / high school students
