Jireh Semiconductor is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to our Facilities Department. This position will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all construction fit-up activities to ensure compliance with the construction plans, schedules and safety procedures/policies as well as primary engineering responsibility for cooling towers, boilers, chillers, cooling water, compressors, air handlers, HVAC, Fire Life Safety, and admin building upkeep.
DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative Duties
- Provide engineering support to Fire Life Safety system. Keep drawings and wiring diagram up to date. Communicate programming needs to programmer. Support sprinkler system work and testing.
- Oversee the construction fit-up activities of all contractors. Review SIPP forms for all work to ensure compliance with site policies and procedures. Manage construction projects to ensure adherence to budget and published schedule.
- Prepare RFP's, obtain proposals/quotes, evaluate, recommend award, prepare PR's for facility projects and related work. Review, comment and recommend approval of invoices regarding PRs processed. Maintain a current log of all cost transitions and dollar balances remaining on POs/PRs.
- Continuously review facility system operating conditions reviewing analytical data and/or evaluations and optimizing conditions for HVAC and facility piping systems.
- Assist in training all facility technicians in the proper maintenance and operations of existing HVAC equipment, CDA equipment, chillers, boilers, vacuum pumps and associated piping systems.
- Continuously evaluate products and make recommendations regarding alternative mechanical and tool hookup equipment, materials and installation methods.
- Continuously review and evaluate new federal, state and local laws for impact to Jireh.
- Prepare and submit written reports as required.
- Prepare alternative proposals, make recommendations and design selected system upgrades.
- Audit existing mechanical systems and insure specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot out of specification problem(s).
- Review, comment and approve various engineering designs for compliance with company policies and specifications as well as governmental requirements.
- Coordinate all phase of construction (architectural, mechanical and electrical)
- Review and approve contractor generated SIPP forms on a daily basis and ensure no unplanned site interruptions.
- Work with consulting engineers to resolve all field issues.
- Provide Mechanical Engineering support to Facilities technicians to ensure Facility systems are performing at optimal conditions and that there are no unscheduled interruptions.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Manager.
BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
3+ Years of Relevant Experience
Aptitude, education or experience in Instrumentation and Controls preferred
Professional registration as a mechanical engineer is a plus but not required
Experience with HVAC systems and air handling
Experience with Fire Life Safety systems
Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD MEP
Ability to use the following codes: UBC, UFC, NFPA, ASTM, ANSI
