Job Description

Intel’s Compact Device Modeling Group (CDMG) is part of the Design Technology Platform (DTP) organization, enabling Intel customers to bring products faster to market through cutting‑edge process technology and best‑in‑class design support. As a semiconductor device modeling engineer, you will support compact modeling activities for Intel’s new technologies, ensuring fast and reliable designs for data‑centric applications.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain compact models (e.g., BSIM, LLE) for advanced FinFET and GAA transistor technologies.
  • Extract device parameters using tools such as ICCAP and MBP and integrate them into commercial simulators like HSPICE and Spectre.
  • Perform IV/CV fitting, model retargeting, and corner/statistical variation modeling for advanced nodes.
  • Automate model generation and documentation using Python scripting.
  • Collaborate with design teams and cross‑functional groups to deliver high‑quality models that meet performance targets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with 9+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of industry experience, or Ph.D. with at least 3 years of experience in the semiconductor field.
  • At least 3+ years of hands‑on experience with BSIM or other compact models for transistor modeling at advanced nodes.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with extraction tools (e.g., ICCAP, MBP) and commercial simulators such as HSPICE and Spectre.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in IV/CV fitting, model retargeting, and corner/statistical variation modeling.
  • At least 3+ years of experience developing LLE models for FinFET or GAAFET technologies.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Python scripting for automation and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. with 8+ years of industry experience in the semiconductor field.
  • Deep expertise in compact modeling, including expertise in layout‑dependent effects, Open Model Interface (OMI), machine learning for data analysis, and device targeting methodologies.
