A growing technology business supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join its on‑site support team in Hillsboro, Oregon.
This position focuses on highly technical metrology, deposition, and white light interferometry systems within a leading semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to diagnose issues, optimise system performance, and deliver hands‑on technical support across a complex toolset.
This opportunity would suit a proactive and technically driven engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, working directly with customers, and operating within a collaborative small‑team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on‑site support for advanced semiconductor equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and process‑related issues
- Support installation, maintenance, calibration, and optimisation activities
- Work closely with customer engineering and operations teams
- Deliver high levels of customer support and technical problem‑solving
- Utilise remote diagnostic capabilities to support tool uptime and responsiveness
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer within the semiconductor industry
- Knowledge of metrology, deposition, optical inspection, or white light interferometry systems
- Degree or higher qualification in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong hands‑on fault‑finding and troubleshooting capability
- Comfortable working independently within a customer‑facing environment
- Proactive mindset with strong communication skills
- Experience supporting equipment within high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing environments is advantageous
- Up to $150,000 base salary plus comprehensive benefits package
