Job Summary
SCREEN SPE USA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Engineer to project manage the reliability and productivity of an expanding Wet Cleaning Product portfolio within a strategic business unit. The role requires combining technical acumen, external customer communication skills, and detailed product hardware knowledge with strong organizational and leadership abilities. This position reports to the Sr. Engineering and Strategic Business Development Manager.
Primary work location is Hillsboro, OR. Opportunities will arise to travel to SCREEN Japan, Europe, and across the continental US to support activities and attend customer meetings. Possessing valid international travel documents is a prerequisite for this role.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Engages closely with customers and factory engineering teams, providing end‑to‑end ownership of project execution, issue resolution, and escalation support for assigned platforms.
- Works with customer, local expats, and factory development team to aid design enhancements, prototyping, modeling, proof‑of‑concept, and pilot testing.
- Uses Cause & Effect (fishbone) diagrams, flow charts, flow sheets, pareto charts, brainstorming, scatter diagrams, run charts, and UCL/LCL to arrive at root cause analysis.
- Demonstrates deep knowledge of assigned products/platforms and responds to equipment configuration, modification recommendations, problems, repairs, maintenance, or general operation.
- Maintains close relationship with “on the floor” issues and competitive situations; works with Account Manager and Direct Manager to address issues and identify modification opportunities.
- Routinely leads customer User Group (UG), Engineering Working Group (TD), and Task Force (TF) meetings; closely manages multiple tool configurations and DCPs for customers under the Copy‑Exact (CE!) policy to avoid violations.
- Establishes a clear and balanced supporting path, guiding factory engineering team to best fulfill customer’s reasonable expectations.
- Fully understands RFQ/DCP/DCP‑approval/Quote/PO process and complies without deviation; consults with Direct Manager and/or Account Manager for alignment.
- Discusses and engages in DCP options, scope of work, and installation feasibility, differentiating each DCP category.
- Assists customers with RFQ completion, communicates requests to factory via Teams meetings and email, and supports both customer and factory throughout pilot testing, including review of pilot results.
- Develops new product configuration, initiates and manages all facets of engineering design change proposal (DCP), maintains product integrity, and aids U.S. Sales of advanced semiconductor equipment sales and upgrades.
- Strong technical leadership, self‑discipline, flexible working hours, project management skills, exemplary problem‑solving skills, and the ability to guide interdepartmental actions for desired equipment performance while enabling regional post‑sales upgrading business opportunities.
- Must be present in the fab and on Screen equipment to provide assistance or engage in discussions as directed by the direct manager.
- Exhibits full ownership, responsibility, and accountability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally with the customer(s); explanations include adequate detail for stakeholders.
- Demonstrates great presentation skills and conducts meetings with customers in person unless otherwise specified.
- Expected to manage and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner; manages all assigned projects and follows up effectively until closure.
- Consistently maintains a high level of customer satisfaction; resourceful, punctual, engaging, helpful, and constructive bridge to the factory engineering team.
- Strong capability in collaborating with cross‑functional internal teams.
- Resourceful internally to the Service Group (FSE) and assists in identifying the correct replacement part/part number from detailed description of component and system module affected by DCP.
