Senior Scientist Advance Clean and Etch

Come create chemistry with us! We are looking for a Wet Cleans R & D Application Engineer to join our cutting R & D team focused on developing new products in the semiconductor manufacturing space. The position will be based in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the overall success of the Electronic Materials Global Business Unit (GBU) of BASF. The Senior Scientist will be responsible for carrying out R & D activities in the business area of Advanced Cleaning and Etching in North America. The ideal candidates will bring extensive expertise in the wet cleans applications with a passion of innovation and strong leadership skills. • Driving innovation efforts to develop chemical formulations for precise cleaning and etching to fulfill customer requirements.
• Designing and executing experiments to evaluate the performance of BASF commercial and R&D samples in customer applications.
• Participating in customer projects and meetings as a member of the global product development team.
• Communicating experimental results, observed trends and aggregated experience with customers, internal partners, and management on a regular basis.
• Working closely with technical marketing team to discover unmet needs and help turn ideas into new product development projects/topics.
• Working within multidisciplinary project teams which include EH&S, Engineering, Procurement and Logistics to provide contributions to the Hillsboro site operation.
• Implementing EH&S rule based on BASF guideline.
• Accepting personal responsibility to act according to process safety regulations and company directives.
• Promoting the quality systems by monitoring, reviewing, and implementing detailed and accurate documentation processes for all product development and analytical activities and ensure the proper execution of SOPs in wet cleans domain.

If you have...

• PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
• 3+ year research/product development experience in chemistry, chemical engineering or semiconductor manufacturing related field.
• 2+ years of research experience in colloidal chemistry and dispersions and/or surface chemistry
• Effective communication skills to facilitate discussions with internal personnel and customers.
• Ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirement, procedures, and results in oral and written format.
• Management experience in directing, coordinating, and managing team activities to accomplish highly technical tasks.
• Experienced in lab operations.
• Able to operate in environment of frequently changing priorities.
