We are seeking an exceptional PhD-level Quantum Device Measurement Engineer to join our pioneering quantum computing team in Oregon. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of fundamental quantum physics and practical semiconductor technology, characterizing silicon spin qubits at millikelvin temperatures using state-of-the-art dilution refrigerators. You’ll play a crucial role in advancing Intel’s silicon quantum dot technology while contributing to the development of scalable quantum systems that will revolutionize computing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute innovative quantum device measurement experiments to characterize silicon spin qubits
  • Perform hands‑on electrical measurements using dilution refrigerators and cryogenic systems at millikelvin temperatures
  • Analyze quantum device performance data and develop predictive models for device optimization
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including device fabrication, software development, and systems integration
  • Develop efficient device testing and verification methodologies for quantum processors
  • Study quantum phenomena including coherence times, fidelity measurements, quantum gates, and error characterization
  • Propose and implement breakthrough ideas to accelerate Intel’s quantum computing roadmap
  • Maintain partnerships with external research groups and academic institutions
  • Communicate research findings through publications, presentations, and technical reports
  • Stay current with the latest developments in quantum computing technology and measurement techniques
