We're looking for an experienced Mechanical/Process Designer to work at a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing facility in Hillsboro, OR. You'll produce detailed 2D/3D drawing packages, draft P&IDs, piping layouts, and as-built records — all while collaborating directly with engineers, project coordinators, contractors, and equipment manufacturers. This hybrid role includes regular on-site field visits to verify conditions and support construction phase RFI and submittal services.
Pay: $ per hour DOE
What you'll do- Produce comprehensive 2D/Revit drawing packages including piping layouts, equipment layouts, schedules, P&IDs, hook-up drawings, and isometric views
- Draft detailed flow diagrams for gas-side and water-side systems (HVAC, Hydronics, Fire Protection)
- Conduct field walks and verifications; draft as-built pipe and equipment layouts reflecting existing conditions
- Develop utility requirement documents working directly with client equipment owners and next-generation tool manufacturers
- Coordinate designs across all disciplines and resolve conflicts with field conditions
- Provide specifications input, code review participation, and drawing review/control services
- Conduct punch-list walks to ensure final implementation aligns with design intent
- Assist with RFI and submittal services during the construction phase
- Mentor junior staff and provide work estimates and task breakdowns to leadership
- Prepare deliverables across all project phases — models, plans, sections, details, sketches, and equipment arrangement diagrams
- 3–15 years of progressive CAD drafting/design experience on process systems
- Extensive experience with Revit and AutoCAD; model review experience in Navisworks
- Experience in mechanical design for semiconductor or related high-tech manufacturing facilities
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design specifications
- Ability to perform as wet-side or dry-side lead designer on major programs
- Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, work on catwalks, and lift up to 25 lbs on active construction sites
- Must pass background check and drug screen; must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience drafting P&IDs, hook-up drawings, and isometric views for high-tech or industrial facilities
- Experience supporting field construction including RFI resolution and submittal review
- Track record mentoring junior designers and leading multi-discipline coordination
