Overview
Join Intel's Networking Solutions Group (NSG) as a Network Systems and Solutions Engineer, helping deliver best‑in‑class Ethernet and PCIe networking solutions for next‑generation AI and HPC infrastructure. You will collaborate with experienced engineers across hardware, firmware, and software teams to validate and optimize advanced network subsystems built on high‑speed PHY IP and 400G technologies and beyond. You will validate physical layer device performance and apply rigorous technical investigation and debug methodologies to root cause and resolve complex issues spanning electrical signaling, PHY operation, and Layer 1‑2 networking protocols.
Through your work, you will directly influence product quality and customer success, helping enterprises and hyperscalers deploy reliable, high‑performance networking solutions built on Intel technology.
- Perform rigorous stress tests to validate firmware‑managed Ethernet and PCIe links
- Perform root cause analysis to deliver solutions to link issues
- Characterize interconnects (copper, optics) and ecosystem link partner devices (switches) for compliance and interoperability
- Collaborate with product support teams on resolving customer‑reported issues
- Collaborate with IP design, silicon integration, and electrical validation teams to meet targeted product requirements
Strong technical communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position:
This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in computer, electrical, systems engineering, or related technical field. 1+ years of experience in serial link disciplines such as Ethernet, PCIE, USB, etc. Foundational analog and digital domain knowledge including voltage, current, impedance, frequency terminology, 8/16/32‑bit hexadecimal notation, and read/write/modify memory operations. Familiarity with Linux OS and scripting languages such as Python or similar.
Familiarity with creating bespoke scripts for automating tasks.
Preferred qualifications, in addition to the minimum requirements, and considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates: 2+ years of practical engineering experience in a relevant field. Hierarchical hardware design interpretation using schematic and layout views and tools. Knowledge of Ethernet, PCIe, or other high‑speed serial communication technologies such as DDR, SATA, USB, and associated standards (e.g., IEEE Std. 802.3‑2022). Microcontroller, FPGA, or programmable device experience.
Proven success with technical documents such as datasheets or programmers' manuals to control electronic devices. Scripting skillset using Python or similar. Direct experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes.
