Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corporation (KSEC) is seeking a motivated and technically skilled engineering professional to join our new U.S. Demo Center (USDC) in Hillsboro, Oregon, as a Facilities Engineer I.

Facilities Engineer I is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility infrastructure and utility systems. This role will contribute to facility operations, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, reliability improvements, contractor coordination & continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with senior engineers, maintenance technicians, vendors & cross-functional teams, the Facilities Engineer I will help ensure facility systems meet operational, safety and compliance requirements.

This position is ideally suited for an engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience in facilities,

manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, or technical operations environments who is seeking to expand technical expertise and take greater ownership of facility system performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the operation, monitoring, and optimization of facility utility systems and building infrastructure.
  • Execute and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility system issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
  • Perform routine inspections and assessments of facility systems and identify reliability improvements.
  • Analyze equipment performance, maintenance trends, and utility consumption data.
  • Support capital improvement projects, facility modifications, and equipment installations.
  • Coordinate activities with contractors, service providers, and vendors.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Assist with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, drawings, and system documentation.
  • Support emergency response efforts and business continuity planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and service teams to support business objectives.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience:
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in facilities engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, semiconductor operations, industrial operations, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience supporting facility utility systems and infrastructure in an industrial, semiconductor, manufacturing, laboratory, or mission-critical environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities, contractors, or service providers is preferred.
  • Exposure to reliability improvement, energy management, or continuous improvement projects is a plus.
Skills and

Competencies:
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
  • Working knowledge of facility utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, compressed air, and water systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using SCADA, maintenance management, or facility monitoring systems is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
