Job DescriptionMeticulously analyzes production costs, monitor inventory levels, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
Performs advanced and specialized accounting activities to ensure the organization complies with relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities- Participate in Month-End Close: ensuring all financial transactions for the month are accurately recorded and reconciled promptly. Tasks include preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in financial reporting.
- Cost Analysis:
Conduct detailed analysis of production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overheads, to ensure accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities. - Inventory Management:
Supervise inventory levels, track usage, and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring accurate valuation and minimizing waste or shortages. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on manufacturing costs, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management. - Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in all cost accounting activities. This includes responding to audit requests timely with accurate and complete support. - Variance Analysis:
Monitor and analyze cost variances, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective measures to align with budgeted targets. - Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to streamline processes and optimize cost-efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles and best practices
- Ability to quickly learn and/or apply advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis
- Intermediate ability to navigate and perform functions within ERP systems (QAD or Oracle Hyperion preferred)
- Demonstrated project management with ability to function as an effective and respected finance partner
- Proficient skill in Microsoft Excel for analysis and presentation of data
- Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
- Demonstrates good communication and presentation skills
