Evergreen Healthcare Group in the Hillsboro/Portland, Oregon area is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide high-quality respiratory care services to residents in a skilled nursing facility setting. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring residents with cardiopulmonary conditions while ensuring compliance with physician orders, facility policies, and state and federal regulations.
Essential Functions- Conducts respiratory assessments and evaluates residents’ cardiopulmonary status.
- Administers respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator support as applicable.
- Monitors residents for changes in respiratory condition and promptly reports concerns to the interdisciplinary care team and attending physician.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates respiratory care plans in collaboration with nursing and medical staff.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident responses in accordance with facility policy.
- Maintains and ensures proper operation, cleaning, and storage of respiratory equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare guidelines, skilled nursing regulations, and infection control standards.
- Provides education to residents, families, and staff regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment.
- Participates in quality assurance activities and supports regulatory survey readiness.
Required:
- Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Oregon
- Credentialed as RRT or CRT
- Current BLS certification
Preferred:
- Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute setting
- Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent residents
