We are currently seeking a qualified Level 4 Technician to join our client’s team onsite in Hillsboro, OR. This role will work the hours of 6AM-6PM Sun‑Tues/Alt Wed.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other low voltage related systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, Category 7 and fiber optic cabling.
- Assist with material control to ensure all required materials are available to complete the daily work.
- Ensure quality and safety guidelines are followed.
- Ensure ticketed requests are assigned, communicated, and addressed within client SLA.
- Perform quality evaluation, diagnose, troubleshoot cabling systems and perform replacement/repairs as necessary.
- Assist data center teams and data center managers in accomplishing daily infrastructure new landings within SLA.
- Receive hardware shipments for data center equipment landings.
- Validate purchase order accuracy of hardware received.
- Unbox and recycle materials.
- Move equipment from dock to staging areas or to DC racks.
- Install or retrofit server racks – rail and shelving installation.
- Power and network cable installation and cable management.
- Scan and label installed devices (network or server).
- Designate parts identified for spare part stock inventory.
- Perform proper e‑waste handling and disposal.
- Handle equipment shipping and receiving as needed.
- Provide escort service for vendors and technicians.
- Perform work request tasks from Service Now ticket system.
- Install cable pathways, conveyances (ladders, trays, support systems).
- Know terminology for installation and service of telecom, data, security and wireless cabling infrastructure.
- Have mechanical aptitude to read cable matrix blueprints, mechanical and/or electrical requirement documents.
- Complete physical cable installations and removal of cabling components, TOR switches, pathway systems (cable tray), moving equipment, network gear and related communications infrastructure hardware and materials.

- IP Addressing, Layer‑2 VLAN, etc.
- Experienced in Ethernet Switching hardware
- Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies, etc.
- Transceiver Types SX, LX, SR, LR, etc.
- Cable troubleshooting knowledge and experience
- Fluke testers:
Copper wire map, link test, etc. - Fiber OTDR testing.
- Fluke Aircheck for wireless testing.
- Fluke testers:
- Ability to work in a hot enclosed environment for short periods (data center hot aisles).
- Work while on a ladder – required for top‑of‑rack installations.
- Work independently or in teams of 3‑4 and be flexible.
- Lift 35 lbs. solo.
- Willing to travel between buildings using personal car or foot.
- Walk, sit, stand, crawl or kneel for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Windows 10.
- Intermediate experience with Windows Server 2022 installation and configuration including roles, disk management, user administration, OS troubleshooting, adding SAN drives/MPIO, and network management.
- Intermediate experience with server hardware – Client DL360/380 Gen8‑11, BL460 Gen8‑10, Dell Power Edge R660/R760.
- Experience troubleshooting memory, disk, array controller battery, HBA, Flex‑LOM issues.
- RAID configuration and logical drive setup.
- iLO/iDRAC configuration.
- Servers and C7000 enclosures.
- Onboard Administrator.
- vSphere 6.5/7.0 vCenter experience.
- Microsoft failover cluster knowledge and installation experience.
- Microsoft NLB cluster knowledge and installation experience.
- Proactive walkthrough for failed hardware.
- Physical audit of supported systems.
- Proper disposal of hardware and media following client guidelines.
