Role Overview
The Associate Data Center Hardware Engineer is a hands‑on technical role focused on ensuring the reliability and performance of Linked In's global infrastructure. This position is responsible for executing hardware break‑fix activities, providing advanced troubleshooting support, and serving as an escalation point for contracted data center technicians. In addition to performing direct repair work, the role partners with vendors, mentors contract staff, and drives consistency in service delivery across all Linked In data center operations.
WhatYou Will Do
- Perform break‑fix repairs.
- Trublement and resolve escalated issues.
- Install new SSDs and NVMe drives.
- Conduct basic Linux OS and IPMI-level troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve physical‑layer network connectivity issues.
- Participate in onboarding new contracted data center technicians.
This role requires 1+ years of experience in a Data Center Engineering Role, 1+ years of Linux troubleshooting experience, and 1+ years of server hardware troubleshooting experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience, 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role, 2+ years Linux troubleshooting experience, and 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience.
