QA Test Technician

This temporary opportunity is expected to run for approximately 3 months with the possibility of extension.

As a QA Test Technician on our wireless interoperability team, you will execute structured test matrices that put devices under test against Novus Labs' library of 5,000+ consumer and prosumer wireless access points, routers, and mesh systems. You will configure APs into specific network conditions, run the device under test through connectivity, discovery, roaming, and recovery scenarios, and document exactly what happened when something fails.

This is hands‑on lab work in our residential test homes and lab benches, and it is the kind of testing where careful, repeatable execution matters more than speed.

• Execute AP interoperability test plans against a broad matrix of consumer and prosumer access points, routers, and mesh systems.
• Configure access points and gateways to defined test profiles, including SSID and band setup, security modes, channel and channel width selection, and more.
• Validate device onboarding, association, and re‑association behavior across bands, including longevity and soak runs across large AP populations.

You are a detail-oriented QA technician who is comfortable in a lab full of routers. You can follow a test plan precisely, you notice when a result does not look right, and you write up what you saw clearly enough that someone else can act on it. You bring a working understanding of home networking and are interested in going deeper on Wi‑Fi behavior.

• 1+ years of QA testing experience.
• Hands‑on experience configuring consumer or prosumer wireless routers, access points, or mesh systems through their web or app interfaces.
• Working understanding of Wi‑Fi fundamentals: 2.4/5/6 GHz bands, channels and channel width, SSIDs, WPA2/WPA3 security, and signal strength basics.
• Familiarity with home network concepts including DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, and NAT.
• Comfort with consumer electronics under test.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Experience with Wi‑Fi 6E or Wi‑Fi 7 hardware, including 6 GHz operation, MLO, or 320 MHz channels.
• Experience capturing and reading packet captures in Wireshark, including wireless captures.
• Experience with adb, serial communication tools, or basic scripting (Python or shell) for test automation.
• Experience with Jira or Test Rail.
• Exposure to Matter, Thread, Zigbee, or Bluetooth/BLE device testing.
