Summary:

  • Our Materials and Structural Analysis business helps customers drive innovative research and discoveries by delivering innovative solutions, such as world-class scanning and transmission electron microscopes, combined with advanced software suites.
  • Our EM Certified team is responsible for generating a new revenue stream by actively trading-in, refurbishing and reselling previously owned systems.

The Mission and Position:

  • The Logistics Specialist EM Certified is responsible for direct Logistics support and documentation of Certified processes.
  • You will work closely with other functions in our existing MSD organization to develop and adopt new processes to support the Certified business.
  • The Logistics Specialist will report to the Operations Manager and will collaborate closely with all Certified team members, third party logistics companies and other team members.
  • Responsible for coordinating the movement, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. They work with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to manage inventory, shipments, and logistics operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on daily Logistics support for the Certified team in planning de-installations, shipments, and parts orders.
  • Lead dedicated improvement programs that support the Certified business, incorporating Certified business process in overall sales and service processes.
  • Collaborating with the team to identify and deploy process improvements.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate to the team and stakeholders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Schedule transportation and communicate with carriers and freight providers.
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery delays or transportation issues.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, bills of lading, customs paperwork, and other required documents.
  • Analyze logistics performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work with the Global trade compliance team to ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, customer service, and sales teams to support operational goals.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged goods, and customer complaints.
  • Generate reports on logistics metrics such as on-time delivery, freight costs, inventory accuracy, and carrier performance.
  • Supporting ad-hoc requests.

Education and experience:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Enthusiastic about continuous improvement, identifying and driving improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in Communication and Change Management
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Out of the box analytical person who is comfortable challenging traditional norms and status quo.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of logistics software, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS/ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
