Hiring General Laborer / Saw Operator – Wood Mill

Clayton Supply, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a vertically integrated home builder dedicated to sustainable and attainable housing. We are recruiting a General Laborer / Saw Operator for our Wood Mill that builds wood trusses to support our homebuilding operations.

Responsibilities

Turn on machinery.
Read order information to identify correct order specification.
Operate machinery.
Create specific pre‑cut window parts according to machine and window specifications.
Verify dimensions of pre‑cut parts and accuracy of assembly using a tape measure.
Lift finished product with a team member into a rolling cart.
Push material cart of completed product to designated area.
Deliver finished product to other departments.
Clean and maintain equipment and surrounding area.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Be able to walk, bend, stoop, and climb throughout the day.

Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, and perform other physical duties as needed.

Be able to stand and/or walk for 8 hours per day with 2–20 minute breaks in between.

Be able to utilize machinery.

Be able to lift and carry wood/window products.

Be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other team members.

Be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions consistently.

Be able to work in an extremely fast‑paced environment.

Be able to work in extreme temperature.

Be able to work with arms over head for an extended period of time.
