Pay: $125,000-$160,000 annually The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for leading operations across multiple Truss, Door & Millwork manufacturing facilities. This role serves as a strategic and operational leader, partnering with Plant Managers and General Managers to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations across all sites.
The Director drives alignment to company FACE values, mission, and vision while implementing operational strategies that achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role is accountable for developing strong plant leadership, standardizing best practices across product lines, and ensuring consistency in performance, culture, and customer experience across all manufacturing operations.
** Duties and Responsibilities
** Safety* Ensure all manufacturing locations maintain safe, compliant, and well-maintained operations environments
* Enforce adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies across production and fleet operations
* Partner with plant leadership to ensure equipment maintenance, inspections, and corrective actions are completed timely
* Lead safety culture initiatives, ensuring accountability, training, and continuous improvement across all sites
* Review incident trends, oversee investigations, and implement preventive measures across locations
Leadership and Operations
* Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Truss Plant Managers and Door & Millwork General Managers across multiple locations
* Ensure consistency in operational execution, SOP adherence, lean practices, and quality standards across all facilities
* Maintain a regular cadence of site visits, reviews, and performance check-ins to ensure operational alignment
* Partner with Sales and Operations leadership to align production capacity with demand across all product lines
* Drive cross-functional collaboration with Purchasing, Fleet, IT, HR, and Sales teams
Business and Financial Performance
* Own overall manufacturing performance, including labor productivity, cost control, and facility profitability
* Lead budget development, capital planning, and long-term operational strategy across manufacturing divisions
* Utilize financial reporting and key metrics to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement
* Partner with plant leaders to manage inventory, material flow, and scrap reduction initiatives
* Ensure alignment to company KPIs, including on-time delivery, quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction
People Development
* Develop and mentor plant leadership teams, building a strong pipeline of future leaders
* Ensure performance management processes are consistent, timely, and effective across all facilities
* Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations
* Support training initiatives, including Parr University and product-specific development programs
* Drive retention strategies and workforce planning aligned with production needs
Continuous Improvement and Standardization
* Lead implementation of lean manufacturing practices across Truss, Door & Millwork operations
* Standardize manufacturing processes, reporting, and performance tracking across all facilities
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety
* Incorporate data, employee feedback, and customer input into continuous improvement initiatives
Communication and Culture
* Champion FACE values and ensure alignment across all manufacturing teams
* Maintain strong, professional relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors
* Communicate company goals, initiatives, and performance expectations consistently across locations
* Serve as a key conduit of information between field operations and executive leadership
* Foster an environment that encourages feedback, innovation, and collaborationResults
* Achieve financial, operational, and safety targets across all manufacturing sites
* Drive measurable improvements in labor efficiency, cost control, and quality metrics
* Communicate company goals, initiatives, and performance expectations consistently across locations
* Ensure consistency in customer experience and product quality across all product lines
* Support company growth initiatives, including expansion of manufacturing capabilities and product offerings
