Contract Duration: 12 Months (Potential for Extension or Full-Time Conversion)

Pay Rate: $20.33 - $25.53/hour (W2)

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an Environmental Monitoring (EM) Technician to join the Analytical Development and Testing (ADT) team within the Hillsboro Innovative Therapies (HIT) organization. In this role, you will support the clinical manufacturing of next-generation Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) by performing environmental monitoring activities that help ensure manufacturing areas remain in a validated state of control while maintaining compliance with cGMP regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental monitoring activities, including viable air, surface, non-viable particulate, and critical utility sampling in both cleanroom and non-classified manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal quality standards.
  • Schedule samples, enter data, and report results using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Support environmental monitoring investigations by assisting with excursion response activities, data collection, and manufacturing restart processes.
  • Maintain environmental monitoring equipment, verify calibration status prior to use, and manage laboratory consumables.
  • Prepare disinfectants and reagents, perform routine equipment cleaning, and maintain laboratory supplies.
  • Follow all cleanroom gowning procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Communicate quality or regulatory concerns promptly to management and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline OR prior experience performing Environmental Monitoring in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of cGMP regulations, aseptic techniques, and cleanroom operations is preferred.
  • Experience using laboratory systems such as LIMS is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced GMP environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required PPE.
  • Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform other physical tasks required in a laboratory setting.

Schedule Flexibility

  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules, including different shifts, overtime, and weekends, based on clinical manufacturing needs.
