The Outreach Worker for the Mobile Engagement team provides intensive case management to homeless or those at-risk of homelessness through mobile community outreach work. The program is a rural outreach to the homeless and those vulnerable to homelessness in areas outside the Metro boundaries for the County. The Program Model includes Mobile Outreach, Relational Case Management and Community Networking. The primary objective of this position is to provide aid to individuals in housing attainment, utilizing the minimum assistance needed to address each household's immediate housing crisis.

The Outreach Worker will regularly visit and work with individual clients to identify and overcome barriers to housing and healthcare and refer these households to other resources in the community (mainstream services, benefit services, health care, food assistance programs, childcare resources, etc.).

Education and Work Experience :

Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
Associates degree strongly preferred. In lieu of degree, 2+ years of relevant experience with 2 years specific to work in the nonprofit realm. 2+ years demonstrated experience in related social services is preferred.

• Strong Human relations skills; trauma-informed care; community building, and motivational interviewing skills are preferred, (but will train the right person).

• Possesses a valid Oregon State Driver's License and pass The Salvation Army driver requirements.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must successfully pass the background/reference check process
• Understand and comply with mandatory reporting requirements and laws pertaining to vulnerable adults and children.
