Position Summary: Nurse Leader for a Level 2 NICU unit, responsible for unit operations, staffing, and direct patient care. The role includes leadership, education, and participation in interdisciplinary teamwork.
Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000 available.
Compensation: $54.61/hr – $82.46/hr plus $6.00/hr night shift differential.
About the Department- Small community hospital with comprehensive in‑house services (OB hospitalists, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, midwives).
- Level 2 NICU, pediatric, and low‑to‑moderate risk LDRP services.
- Private rooms for labor, delivery, recovery, and discharge to enhance patient comfort.
- Holistic approach: welcoming doulas, participating in Home Birth Transfer Partnership, supporting pain‑management alternatives, and providing a jacuzzi tub in every room.
- Serve the Hillsboro community and surrounding areas in Oregon’s most diverse county.
- Assist in patient education/preparation for procedures.
- Support team with daily operational activities.
- Transcribe/check patient charts to confirm physician orders.
- Determine daily staffing assignments in compliance with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure staffing plans are followed for each shift.
- Complete staff scheduling and onboarding documentation.
- Coordinate nursing activities with other units to provide optimal care.
- Maintain compliance with shift productivity tools and staffing targets.
- Lead shift huddles using the organization’s preferred methodology.
- Accurately complete consents for treatment and transfers.
- Assess team and individual wellbeing through consistent leader rounding.
- Coordinate daily activities efficiently to achieve desired results and communicate professionally.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Stability assessment (S.T.A.B.L.E.) completed within 6 months of hire.
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate, C‑EFM, or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire.
