• Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving for at least five items per bag and ensuring items are not damaged.
• Practice best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Assists in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of bascarts for checkout.
• Offers to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Performs basic shelf conditioning.
• Informs customers of grocery specials.
• Returns merchandise to store shelves.
• Gathers bascarts and returns them to designated areas.
• Cleans spills, collects and picks up trash inside the store and parking lot.
• Cleans all areas inside and outside the store.
• Handles and assembles seasonal merchandise.
• Understands the store's layout, locates products, and conducts price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.
• Adheres to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practices preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Adheres to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Works cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manages conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Acts with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
