Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Location:
Hillsboro, OR The Lumber Contractor Salesperson executes all aspects of our sales call process and strategies, with primary focus on aggressive prospecting of new residential and commercial contractors. They will facilitate and coordinate business activities of accounts and executing PARR Sales initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with builders and general contractors which supports our vision to be the supplier of choice for all building material products in the Northwest.
Directly reports to Division Sales Manager. Interacts daily with General Managers & employees (in store and outside yard) and customers. Interacts regularly with corporate employees (Central Purchasing Department, Account Management Team, Human Resources Department, and IT Department.) Interacts regularly with vendor representatives and industry associates.

* Ability to implement PARR’s sales strategies and processes
* Ability to support PARR purchasing principles practices and protocols
* Ability to aggressively pursue company’s best interest when selling to customers
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience dealing with customers expected
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs/demands of the PARR and its customers
* Must be flexible to different personality types and work habits, knowing that goals may be achieved in different ways
* Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment
* Willingness to share department responsibilities to meet deadlines
* Perform other related duties as assigned
** Qualifications
* ** High school diploma or GED equivalent
* 2 years sales experience
* preferred
* * Prior experience in the building materials industry
* preferred
* * Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
* Must be able to type 30+ WPM
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to speak, write, and read English
* required
* * Class C driver’s license and must have and maintain a good driving record
* required
* * Knowledge of building materials and their uses
* Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PARR
* Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
* Being prepared for individual and group sales meetings
* Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals
* Must be tolerance of co-workers, knowing that honest mistakes will be made
* Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material
