Hillsboro School District is seeking an experienced professional to serve as our Manager of Safety Systems and Physical Security. This critical role serves as the District's subject matter expert, leading the design, implementation, and ongoing management of safety infrastructure across our facilities. Working closely with district leadership, school administrators, and external construction and engineering partners, you will play a central role in ensuring a safe, secure, and equitable environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
RoleHighlights
- Provide strategic leadership in designing, maintaining, and upgrading District-wide public safety systems, including intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, and panic alerts.
- Direct system planning, manage vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and oversee contractor background vetting processes to align with District security standards.
- Collaborate with District leadership and public safety agencies to establish comprehensive safety policies, crisis response protocols, and emergency communication systems.
- Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate classified personnel, while promoting educational equity through fair allocation of safety resources and access.
- Conduct regular site inspections, manage system audits, oversee district-wide key management, and coordinate technical troubleshooting.
- High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or relevant field preferred).
- Valid Unarmed Security License through Oregon DPSST (or ability to obtain within 30 days) and a valid Oregon Driver's License.
- Demonstrated experience with physical security systems (badge access, cameras, intrusion alarms) and project management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English, alongside computer proficiency.
- Proven abilities in strategic planning, conflict resolution, and working effectively with diverse teams.
- Position Type: Full Time (12-Month Calendar)
- Salary Range: $118,038 to $135,676 per year
