Job Overview

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician III to join our Operations & Maintenance team. The role involves responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing emergency and preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment, fixtures, and systems in a manufacturing environment that includes clean rooms. This multi‑craft position may perform machine repairs, general maintenance tasks, and support other licensed trades as directed.

Responsibilities
  • Safely perform all job functions, following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing required PPE.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair all facility and production‑associated equipment in compliance with company regulations and standards.
  • Analyze equipment failures, inspect, replace, alter, and maintain building and production services and related equipment.
  • Perform planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for the assigned area, responding to customer needs.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of mechanical equipment—including HVAC, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, RO/DI water systems, compressed air, and other gas equipment—and effect repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Administer preventative maintenance inspections and develop/implement planned maintenance procedures.
  • Perform job estimates, maintain spare parts inventory, and inform stock personnel of parts consumed.
  • Assist in installing, inspecting new equipment, and servicing installations.
  • Provide support to co‑workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers for project and renovation work.
  • Comply with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy‑efficiency solutions.
  • Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility for daily activities and customer scheduling.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Additional Information

Qualified applicants must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test. The position may require a valid driver’s license, the ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location, and various shifts, weekends, and alternative schedules.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience:
    Industrial HVAC, Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting the Intel customer.
  • Associate degree or trade school certification in Industrial Electrical, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory sufficient for basic repair of switches, outlets, and lighting ballasts.
  • Mechanical skills to assist with and perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory and EPA guidelines.
  • Team‑work experience and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, email, and other routine tasks.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Move extensively throughout the plant, including climbing extension and roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs as needed.
  • Perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and moving in a 90‑degree orientation.
  • Use office equipment and a computer keyboard for data entry, communication, and document preparation.
  • Travel to Amentum, customer, and/or vendor locations, including occasional air travel to remote sites.
  • Interact professionally with clients under periods of stress.
Compensation

$35.00 – $38.00 per hour. The actual compensation may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and market data.
