Principal Responsibilities
- Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shovelling, high-pressure washing, and other remediation activities.
- Carry out confined space entry work when required, including tasks in areas such as manholes and similar restricted spaces.
- Respond to customer spills and emergency situations during regular working hours and after-hours as needed.
- Maintain general housekeeping standards, including cleaning and maintaining equipment and worksites.
- Complete all duties safely and efficiently while following applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Set up and operate various equipment, including pumps, trailer-mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet jacks, and skid steers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and understand operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
- Knowledge of chemicals and ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets to understand required precautions and hazard controls.
- Willingness to provide suggestions on work practices to help meet and exceed departmental goals.
- Confidence to inform colleagues about unsafe work practices or hazardous conditions.
- Positive attitude with strong mental resilience.
- Ability to follow company policies and promote safety standards.
- Basic proficiency with tablets or PCs.
- Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and related instruments.
- Strong accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Current confined space entry certification preferred, or ability to obtain it after hiring; this may be required in some locations.
- Valid driver’s licence may be required for certain positions.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with light and heavy equipment and response to hazardous or non-hazardous emergencies or cleanup activities.
- Ability to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training after hiring.
- Ability to move and handle objects weighing up to 50 lbs
.
