School Psychologist (Grades K
-12)

The Southern Oregon Education Service District’s psychological services department seeks to expand its team of school psychologists. Positions include full‑time and part‑time contracts (0.5–1.0 FTE / 190 days per academic year) and internship options. The district is a government agency that qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, making it an attractive place for recent graduates and experienced professionals aiming to repay student loans.

POSITION

GOAL

Provide assistance to assigned schools with psychological evaluations, instructional and behavioral consultation, crisis intervention, and staff development activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide psychological assessments and written reports.
  • Provide consultation to teachers regarding instructional, behavioral, and social interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and short‑term counseling.
  • Provide staff development in‑services concerning assessment, instruction, and intervention strategies.
  • Assist schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention, and other educational decisions.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately and make independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with ESD and local district staff.
  • Prepare accountability records regarding services provided.
  • Participate in professional growth activities.
  • Comply with local district and ESD rules and policies.
  • Perform physical requirements unaided or with reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform job‑related tasks as designated by the supervisor.
  • MINIMUM PREREQUISITES
    • Oregon Personnel Services license with School Psychologist endorsement.
    • Master’s degree in school/educational psychology from an accredited college or university.
    LOCATION

    In person, at assigned school(s).
