Senior Software Development Engineer

Overview

Come join our Communication Runtimes team as a Senior Software Development Engineer to develop cutting‑edge software features and optimizations for Intel’s communication libraries including libfabric, oneCCL (Collective Communication Library), ISHMEM (Shared Memory Access), and Intel MPI (Message Passing Interface).

• Develop new features, performance optimizations and bug fixes for Intel’s communication libraries.
• Contribute to performance engineering activities such as benchmark creation and workload analysis.
• Collaborate with upstream open‑source projects and improve upstream code.
• Debug problems across hardware and software layers, including RDMA, RoCE, TCP/IP stacks, and GPU programming.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math or other STEM field.
• 3+ years of experience in strong C/C++ development, debugging, and Linux environments.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience developing performance optimizations that improve communication latency or throughput.
• Demonstrated upstream contributions and open‑source development experience.
• Track record of delivering complex technical projects independently.
• Experience collaborating on a distributed, diverse team.
• Hands‑on experience with RDMA networking (Infini Band or RoCE), GPU programming, multithreaded programming, and networking software stack.
• Experience with one or more of the following: distributed computing, HPC communications libraries, collective communication libraries, GPU software, or one or more layers of the network communications stack.

Competitive pay, stock bonuses, and benefit programs including health, retirement, and vacation. Annual salary range: $128,880–245,160 USD (US locations). In‑person work model required.
