System Validation Engineer

System Validation Engineer - Tester II – Semiconductor Product Validation

UST is searching for a System Validation Engineer who will execute validation test cases (manual and automated) across hardware, BIOS, firmware, OS, and drivers.

• Set up and configure systems including motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage, and peripherals
• Develop and run Python-based scripts for test automation, log parsing, and data validation
• Collect and analyze BIOS and OS logs; perform debugging and issue triage
• Validate system components such as DDR4/DDR5, storage (HDD/SSD), and hardware interfaces
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows/Linux/VMware)
• Log and track defects in bug tracking tools; follow through to closure
• Support system bring‑up, rack setup, cabling, and lab maintenance

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field
• Strong understanding of computer hardware, system architecture, and components
• Good knowledge of BIOS, firmware, OS, drivers, and system‑level concepts
• Hands‑on exposure to Linux environments (SSH, command line, tools)
• Strong Python programming skills for scripting, automation, and problem‑solving
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast‑paced environment

$48,000 – $72,000

Oregon

Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires within the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
