Join Intel's Networking Solutions Group (NSG) as a Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer, working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software to deliver best‑in‑class Ethernet networking solutions for our customers. You will collaborate with ecosystem partners and internal engineering teams to enable new products and features, optimize device performance and functionality, and resolve complex technical challenges across Intel's FNIC, IPU, and Ethernet‑enabled SoC product portfolio.
Through your work, you will directly shape customer outcomes and influence product direction, helping enterprises and hyperscalers deploy and succeed with Intel networking technology.
- Collaborate with customers and ecosystem partners to design and implement tailored solutions, ensuring successful deployment into production environments.
- Lead and support rapid debugging and issue resolution by collaborating with engineering teams in and outside the company.
- Identify feature gaps to drive improvements in product capabilities, tools, and usage models.
- Develop, test, and debug system‑level use cases and workloads, verifying software packages across diverse platforms and operating systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation – including release notes, user guides, application notes, and white papers – to accelerate all aspects of product usage from deployment to debug.
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. 3+ years of experience OR a master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in embedded software development, validation, or technical customer support roles.
- 2+ years' experience with Assembly, C++ or Python.
- Strong skills in debugging, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving in varied and complex environments.
- Familiarity with high‑speed networking specifications such as IEEE, SFF and CMIS.
- Demonstrated experience with software version control and development/build tools.
- Working knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat), including networking stacks and drivers.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively in high‑stakes customer‑facing environments.

This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities.
