ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engineer in Training (EIT) is an entry-level engineering position designed to provide hands‑on experience in precast concrete design, production, and project coordination. This role supports senior engineers in structural analysis, project execution, and cross‑functional collaboration while working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. The EIT gains exposure to multiple aspects of engineering, including design, manufacturing, and field operations.

- Support structural design and analysis of precast concrete components under senior engineer guidance.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings and perform basic engineering calculations.
- Assist with project coordination, tracking milestones, and supporting deliverable schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, production, and field operations.
- Identify project issues and assist in developing solutions with senior engineers.
- Provide engineering support to sales, estimating, and project development teams.
- Participate in site and plant visits to gain field and manufacturing exposure.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and supporting corrective actions on projects.
- Communicate with contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and project procedures.
The ideal candidate is a motivated early‑career engineer who is eager to build a strong foundation in structural engineering and the precast industry. They are detail‑oriented, proactive, and willing to learn across design, production, and field environments. - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET‑accredited preferred).
- 0–3 years of engineering experience, preferably in precast or structural design.
- Basic proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organization and time‑management abilities.
- Self‑motivated with desire to pursue PE licensure.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
