Description

As the QC Supervisor, you are responsible for consistent delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers. You oversee product inspections and QC technicians to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications, translate customer quality concerns to drive internal corrective actions and continual improvement, and work to minimize defects through prevention rather than detection. Additional duties include site calibrations, nonconformance documentation, manufacturing audits, document control, hosting site management reviews, and tracking of CoPQ.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and oversee inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished goods according to specified criteria and test methods.
  • Communicate nonconforming products or out-of-tolerance conditions clearly to team members and supervisors, and collaborate with production and quality teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure rejection of product when requirements are not met.
  • Maintain quality records and support management in maintaining quality certifications.
  • Monitor proper labeling, segregation, and disposition of non-conforming or held material.
  • Manage calibration programs for inspection equipment.
  • Oversee documentation and performance of manufacturing audits in production areas.
  • Maintain the document control program, including uploading and maintaining documents.
  • Represent L.B. Foster during site audits, document outcomes, and work with management to investigate findings and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Handle customer complaints through proper documentation, investigations, and leading corrective actions.
  • Track site CoPQs.
  • Schedule and hold site Management Reviews.
  • Review and understand customer specifications and code requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education & License/Certification Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 years of manufacturing experience in a Quality role.
  • Precast and/or ready-mix experience required.
  • ACI Field, Strength & Aggregate certifications.
  • PCI Level I and II certification.
Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in applicable Quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AISC, PCI).
  • Knowledgeable in use of various inspection gauges and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret ASTM standards where applicable.
  • Ability to read drawings and prints.
  • Ability to understand DOT/Code requirements where applicable.
  • Ability to identify nonconforming product conditions and exercise stop-work authority.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Proficiency in mathematics.
  • Ability to speak and present to all levels of the organization and in front of groups.
  • Focus on problem solving and teamwork.
  • Computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
