Position: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - LUBE TECHNICIAN

JOB TITLE:

LUBE TECHNICIAN

General Description:

Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles, focusing on lubrication, fluid checks, and basic inspections. Assists the maintenance department as needed. All technicians will be issued a 2-way radio, a tablet, and tools. Required to carry a radio at all times so they can be contacted.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Fluid Management: Draining and replacing oil, checking and topping off other fluids (like brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant), and ensuring proper fluid levels.
  • Workorder Management: Performing all assigned work orders daily through the FIIX app.
  • Filter Replacement: Replacing oil filters, air filters, and other filters as needed.
  • Tire Maintenance: Checking tire pressure, adding air, and performing tire rotations.
  • Basic Inspections: Conducting visual inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and safety concerns.
  • Minor Repairs: Performing basic repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, fuses, or windshield wipers.
  • Lubrication: Lubricating moving parts, including those in the engine and wheel bearings.
  • Customer Service: Explaining services and repair options in FIIX.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of service and repair work performed in the FIIX system.
  • Safety: Adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Be able to work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and other precision measuring tools.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment of the trade.
  • Detailed knowledge of the principles of internal combustion engines and automotive components, including auto-electric, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Above average mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude.
Physical Requirements / ADA Essential Functions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, and walk.
  • Must be able to use various hand tools or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance on elevated surfaces, and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Assist at times with medium to heavy manual and physical labor.
  • Be able to work at heights in excess of 50 feet.
  • Work overtime as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
  • Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
  • Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific).
  • Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific).
