YARD RIGGER

The Yard Rigger Position

Assist the crane operator in the movement of panels, hardware, production beds, or other materials and equipment in the day-to-day production process.

Salary range: [insert amount here], based on experience.

• Signal the crane operator during panel lifting and placement.
• Use rigging devices for transportation, storage, and shipping of precast panels.
• Hook and unhook lifting cables, ring clutches, and spreader bars.
• Guide the crane and maintain constant communication via two-way radio with the crane operator, especially around blind spots.
• Place dunnage used to store panels in racks or trailers for shipping to customers.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Maintain alertness to surroundings.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to climb ladders, man‑lifts, scaffolding, and work from heights.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
• Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl, and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
• Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts at various heights frequently.

• Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.
• Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.
• Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
• Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related).
• Ability to work outside year-round.
