Job Duties:- Perform on-site construction inspections (e.g., concrete, masonry, soil,steel) under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), to verify compliance with OSHA safety regulations, engineering drawings, design specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
- Assist a senior civil engineer in developing construction documents that include structural framing plans, foundation and superstructure detailing, notes, specification and typical construction details using AutoCAD, ETABS and SAP.
- Assist senior civil engineer in the development of project proposals.
- Provide technical support to industrial personnel, under the supervision of a licensed PE, regarding design, emerging construction problems/deficiencies, program modifications, or structural repairs.
- Perform testing of soils or materials, under the supervision of a licensed PE, to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.
- Assist with the maintenance of all laboratory testing materials, equipment inventory, and calibration records.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 2 years of work experience as an Assistant Divisional Engineer, Divisional Engineer, Construction Engineer, Civil Engineer I, Civil Engineer, or a related occupation required.
The required work experience must include 2 years of experience with the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction materials including reinforced concrete, masonry, soil, and structural steel, and their application in construction;
- Use engineering tools including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil2D & 3D, ETABS, SAP
2000, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6. - Demonstrated knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, AISC,OSHA Safety Laws and Regulations, and ISO quality standards.
- Performing QA/QC inspections, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils and calibration of testing equipment in line with applicable codes and standards.
