Field Support Technician

Description

Seigler Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IP Devices Technician to join our team on a per-diem basis in Hillsborough, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IP networking and IP video distribution systems. This role will involve setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting IP-based devices and systems outside and inside.

• Install, configure, and test IP cameras in various outdoor and indoor environments, including commercial, and industrial settings.
• Mount cameras on walls, poles, and other structures, ensuring optimal positioning.
• Perform cable installations, terminations, and testing.
• Configure network settings, power over Ethernet (PoE) devices, network switches, and VPN systems at the install locations.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, firmware updates, troubleshooting, and removal of IT equipment.
• Resolve technical issues promptly - arrive on site timely during outages to ensure minimal downtime.
• Document network configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
• Respond promptly to assigned field service requests submitted through our ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution of issues within established time frames.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.

• Strong understanding of IP networking protocols
• Proficiency in using network testing tools and software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with video and audio systems, including codecs, formats, and standards
• Willingness to work per-diem flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Valid NJ driver's license
• We would love but not required:
  Experience in related IT installation fields, experience with Ubiquiti Networks is a HUGE plus!

• $32 - $38 per hour DOE
• On route gas covered
