Commercial Dock & Door Service Technician

Hillsborough, NJ

Pay Range: $30-$38 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, onsite

We’re hiring an experienced Commercial Overhead Door Technician to join our team in Hillsborough, NJ. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong hands-on technical skills, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and can represent the company professionally at customer sites.

You’ll handle installs, service, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of commercial and industrial door systems. We value technicians who are reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

• Install, service, and repair commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, dock levelers, and truck restraints.
• Diagnose issues, perform troubleshooting, and complete repairs independently.
• Conduct preventative maintenance (PMs) on commercial equipment.
• Read work orders and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and jobsite requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service truck in good condition.
• Document work performed with accuracy and attention to detail.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial overhead doors
  , loading dock equipment, or similar mechanical trades.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working in industrial environments.
• Ability to work independently on installs and service calls.

• Experience with:
• Sectional doors
• Dock levelers & restraints
• Operators & controls
• Solid troubleshooting and mechanical diagnosis abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and install instructions.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious.
• Able to manage time effectively and follow through on commitments.
• Works well without micromanagement.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders, lifts, and in industrial conditions.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willingness to take part in training and meet company standards
