The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for executing all daily camp activities from start to finish. This role will develop lesson plans for each day and organize each week to allow for seamless instruction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING- To support the planning, implementation, and delivery of summer day camp programs
- Work as part of the camp leadership team to develop, manage and lead Camp Counselors to deliver excellent programs
- Organize and maintain updated camper forms for each week
- Support camp planning, communications, promotions, and marketing initiatives
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and supervision of camp staff
- Instruct and coach children while they engage in group and individual sports/adventure activities
- Maintain and enforce policies, procedures, and safety rules at assigned sites
- Assist with morning drop‑off and check‑in as well as afternoon pick‑up and sign‑out
- Assist Counselors/Coaches with camp duties and supervision of campers
- Support Camp outcomes and the implementation of feedback tools with campers, staff, and parents
- Establish relationships with camp parents and ensure timely communication regarding parent concerns and questions
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor's degree in sports management, education or related field preferred
- Must be 20 yrs. or older
- Minimum 3 years related work experience in day care, or day camp program or similar preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising staff preferred
- Ability to make decisions when working through situations that arise
- Proven knowledge of facilitating high quality recreation/camp programs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent guest service skills and demeanor
- Must be detail‑oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Must work well with others
- Ability to coach and motivate children ages 3‑12 approximately
- Commitment to the safety and well‑being of others
- Experience working in sports and camp planning
- CPR & First Aid Certification preferred
- Coaching certificates preferred
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
